For greater details about my feelings regarding recent chapters and reasons for this overhaul you are welcome to check out my personal blog, but the main point is simply this: they were shit, they did not belong there, and they are being pulled, reworked, and perhaps posted as their own side stories. Meanwhile, I will be start anew from where they are being cleaved and heading right on into the conclusion.

I will likely leave Bubblemates as it is now up, but know that it is an abandoned first draft, and that several of the later chapters are dead to me. I haven’t pinpointed the exact chapter number I’ll be starting from yet, but when I do I will post the likely concluding chapter as if those chapters cut were never published, I’ll change the masterlist link on my blog, etc.

The AO3 version however will not stay up the way it is now. I will be deleting the cut chapters there and then adding the new chapter when it is completed.

I still don’t guarantee the ending will be good, but at least I will be much prouder of the finished product.

Feel free to let me know if you have any input or suggestions, but know that there isn’t much compromise to be had here in regards to the now tossed older chapters. I simply cannot leave them in a finished product. The most I can give you is leaving the old draft up and if desired posting those chapters as separate extra side stories.

Thank you for your understanding and apologies if this is not what you wanted, but this is simply how it will have to be if I’m ever to finish this story and actually feel proud of it.

I just want to clarify for everyone how recent updates will be affecting the albeit on hiatus The Irony of Bubblemates

And the answer is that they won’t be

Bubblemates diverged from canon already once all the recent stuff about the dreambubbles came about (not in huge ways for the most part, but in the details), so there is no need to apply implications of the most recent update to it either

Because Bubblemates is not canon, period

The fic will be eventually finished with two more chapters that are already planned out and that’s that. I will not be adding anything involving recent updates, and I’m using artistic licence to say that alpha Tavros being pulled and becoming this new sprite is NOT a part of Bubblemates canon

You can now return to whatever you were doing

someday this blog won’t be all announcements. Someday all my muses will come back. Someday. Sob.

But anyway, next weekend I will be attending Sakura-con! Like I do every year actually, haha. I only bringing it up because if there are any readers who will be going, I would gladly take the chance to give you a huge hug (or whatever you’re comfortable with) for being awesome and amazing and, well, absolutely fantastic.

Bubblemates masterlist (not the fic itself, just the masterlist — don’t get too excited) has been updated, the not-Bubblemates masterlist will be slowly updated over the coarse of tonight and tomorrow

It looks easy, but god is it tedious, so I make no guarantees that it will be done tonight. Especially since in theory I need to be a responsible college student and all that this evening

But anyway, there you go. Check them out if you would like, replace any bookmarks you had on the shitty masterlist posts, whatever. Let me know if you want them organized differently, etc.

For example, I might separate the Dave/Tavros fics from the other pairings fics, haha.

As you may have noticed, I am behind on updating them. This is because the way that tumblr is set up, it’s nearly impossible to edit an old post unless you scroll all the way down your dash of your blog to the post, and there click edit.

Considering how long ago I made the Bubblemates masterlist, let’s just say I have to do a lot of scrolling to find and edit it.

Luckily, I have finally grown a brain and figured out how to fix this. I have created page links on my blog (off to the side where the ask button is) where I will be copy+paste+editing the masterlists. I won’t delete the old ones! But I will no longer bother to update them. This way it’s a) easier (and frankly, possible) for me to update the lists and b) it’s easier for you to find.

I have only made the links though. If you hit them, they will just take you to a page that says “To be finished!” Because it is late at night and I have school in the morning so. Tomorrow though I should be able to get those up AND update them.

LONG STORY SHORT: From some point tomorrow onward, go to the links on the side of my blog if you want to find masterlists of either all the Bubblemates parts or for all other Homestuck fanfiction.

also I’m thinking of eventually slowly getting off my lazy ass and posting more on AO3. Would that be especially helpful for anyone? Is that something I should be less lazy about?

Unsurprisingly from what you may have gathered from the title, yes, this is about my announcing a hiatus.

It may not even be surprising consider how little has been posted as of late.

I just have not had the drive to write since returning from Denmark, and where I do have it, it is not for projects I can post just yet. I’m considering giving said project the green light even though I would prefer to hold it back until I’m finished with Bubblemates. But that will be a personal choice.

Anyway. Point is. I’m not writing much, what I do that’s ok I can’t post, and everything else right now is shit since I’m forcing it so.

I’m making the hiatus announced so everyone knows what’s up.

Obviously I’m still open to questions and comments, and will be around as often. Just not posting much or often.

Sorry lovelies. Hopefully the tides come back in soon.

This year has been pretty darned awesome. Who knew that a silly little side blog to post my fanfics on so I didn’t clog my personal one would get even fifty followers, let alone verging on seven hundred!

It has been wonderful because you all are wonderful. You have always been supportive, and kind, and understanding. You are an amazingly creative bunch. You say I inspire you, but in truth, you inspire me as much if not more so. I cannot count the number of fics I wrote because of ideas you sparked. I cannot even begin to tell you how many holes you have pointed out for me to think about and fill, characterizations you helped me think about and create, and mistakes I made that you politely pointed out so I could go back and fix them.

All of your fanart, fanfiction, fan sand art and fan cakes and fan cosplays and fans becoming fan friends—

It has been so heartwarming and amazing.

When I say you are the best readers, I mean it. You’re the best. You’re amazing.

You keep me going and working and practicing to become better.
